Daun grew up in Irmo, SC. She graduated Irmo High School in 1984. Then went to USC and graduated with degree in History in 1989. She attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan which gave her a true appreciation for snow and ice. She graduated in 1993 and then began working with her mother, Carol Steigner, and step-father, Jon Hendrix. The opportunity to work with her parents has been a  true gift.

Daun loves books, movies and travel. At the beginning of her career she had the opportunity to work as a contract lawyer for DSS in Lexington, McCormick and Saluda counties on abuse and neglect cases. She also had the honor of clerking for the late Honorable Marc H. Westbrook. She has also represented the Lexington and Saluda county Guardian ad Litem programs.
