Workers injured after fall in construction site accident

One indication of a thriving and growing city is the need for new schools, which also provides a boost to the construction industry. Unfortunately, even the most experienced workers can experience a construction site accident that results in serious injuries. Injured workers who reside in South Carolina do have recourse to the state's workers' compensation program for vital financial benefits.

Recently, emergency crews responded to a call for assistance on the site of a new high school construction. According to the reports, two men suffered injuries after one worker fell approximately a dozen feet. That man then landed on top of a 47-year-old co-worker. The first man suffered only minor injuries.

The second man suffered serious injuries in the incident. He was purportedly alert when crews arrived to treat his injuries and provide transportation via ambulance to a nearby medical center. The first man was also taken for evaluation of his injuries, though he was not taken by an emergency vehicle.

Neither of the workers' injuries were disclosed, and both are expected to recover over time. It is likely that an investigation will be conducted into the reason behind this construction site accident. Whenever a South Carolina resident suffers serious injuries in the course of performing his or her duties, he or she likely sustains monetary losses as a result of being unable to work. These workers are entitled to seek assistance in filing a qualifying claim with the state's workers' compensation program. An experienced attorney can guide a valid claim through the process in an efficient manner in order to obtain the maximum benefits for the eligible individual.
